Value Bet

  • A Value Bet is a bet made with the primary purpose of being called by worse hands.
Value Betting is an important part to playing winning poker. Identifying when your opponents will call with many weaker hands
allows you to win bigger pots than you would otherwise.

The opposite of a Value Bet is a Bluff.

Example: I had a straight on the river, so I decided to make a big Value Bet.
