• Hero is the term used in poker, especially in hand histories, to describe the player's perspective, i.e. yours when you post a hand.
    There can only be one...hero.

    Like the old movie highlander, where it is the goal of the one to overcome all else, making everyone else is the enemy or the villain of the saga, this perspective is also applied to poker.

    The player is always hero, the opponents are the villains.

    So a poker hand is always the saga of you, the hero, versus the villains.


    Villain is very aggressive, tends to bet all his hands when checked to. Hero is out of position and has a weak value hand, should hero check or bet?
