Dog

  • An abbreviation of the term underdog, a player has less pot-equity to win than their opponents.
Being the underdog in general means having less pot-equity with a hand, a range or simply lacking in the overall skill department.

Sometimes the odd situation is used to describe how much of an underdog the player is in a certain situation.

    Example

"He got it in with a flushdraw on the flop, he was certainly a 3-to-1 dog to win the hand. But he got lucky and made the flush."

    Example for skill

"He is such a dog in this lineup. I don't know why he is even considering playing in this game!"
